What do you and the Ice Man have in common?

The hypothalamus

is an area of the brain responsible for temperature control and hormone regulation.

The hypothalamus activates muscles and glands according to what the body needs to maintain homeostasis.

Yogi’s and Tibetan monks have used the practice of enduring extreme temperatures to stimulate their hypothalamus and expand their capacity to maintain steadiness and equanimity even in extreme conditions.

In other words they practice discomfort so they can master their moods.

Step out of your comfort zone. Even if it’s just a few degrees.

Where is your particular area of desired discomfort?
